FAQs

What is a coldroom ?

A coldroom is any insulated envelope that is designed to keep a product or area below the ambient conditions.

What temperature should my coldroom be running at ?

For meat its generally 0-2 degrees centigrade

For Vegetables 3-4 degrees centigrade

For mortuaries its generally 4-5 degrees centigrade

General Frozen Food would be kept at -18 to -21 degrees centigrade

Can Coldroom Parts Ltd design a coldroom & refrigeration to run it ?

We can design and produce drawings for your planning, supply, install and commission equipment even as a turnkey package. Talk to us to see if we can help remove the stress from your project.

Can i refurbish an existing room ?

What we would say it have an expert look at it. The most important part is whether the insulation is still doing its job. Facing panels, doors , lighting, shelving and refrigeration systems can all be replaced or upgraded. The biggest thing to think about is how much electricity is your unit consuming. The more efficient the insulation and refrigeration , the less the electric will cost.

Do Coldroom Parts send parts abroad ?

Yes we do to most countries. All deliveries subject to availability, local restrictions and duties. We currently do not ship to Russia, Kalingrad, or Belarus due to restrictions.

What thickness insulation would i use in a coldroom ?

For smaller units 80mm would be the thickness used for a chiller and 100mm for a freezer. This goes up depending on the size of the room and spans of the panels restrictions. The thicker the panel the less cold leaks out.
